Creative packaging at Isola. We don’t break boxes, we create them!

In fact, this year, although we did not actively participate we were present at the Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna 2019 packaging fair together with Steba srl.

Steba, theArcore-based creative packaging company that markets containers and accessories made of different materials and collaborates with well-known national and international brands.

We created custom packaging for Steba. Not a simple box but a small project for the environment.

What is meant by Creative Packaging

Packaging literally means packing, and what is the main purpose of a package? That of protecting the object it contains. In fact, packaging is basically the wrapping of a product.

Not only that, packaging also has a more innovative side, we could consider it a form of communication. More so if we talk about creative packaging. Why? Because its structure and design can tell the story of the characteristics of the product and the company it represents.

Because of this, many companies have begun to pay more attention to its creation. So as to create creative packaging that can intrigue the intended audience.

The Design of Creative Packaging

As was mentioned earlier, creative packaging is something iconic because it can represent the product it contains.

With this intention, we at Isola have placed great emphasis on the design phase, which we can divide into three main points:

The strategy

As always at our Lighthouse we place considerable emphasis on preliminary strategy. For this reason, before we set to work, we reasoned strategically. So that Steba’s creative packaging could properly fit into the corporate communication and also follow the theme of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna 2019: environmental sustainability.

Specifically, Cosmoprof is an internationally significant, world-renowned exhibition dedicated to the cosmetics supply chain.

But back to us: who is Steba in detail? Steba is a well-established company that provides its customers with quality packaging for the cosmetic and pharmaceutical sectors by offering containers of different shapes and materials suitable for a variety of needs.

What struck us was the creativity of the company already intuitable from the slogan“THE CREATIVE SIDE OF PACKAGING.” In addition, Steba since 2019 has expanded its range of products close to the environment, so we were able to design creative packaging consistent with the company’s image and marketing strategy.

Packaging tells the story of the product, and for this reason it must carry all the important information about the product. For this reason, after receiving the structure of creative packaging, we began to focus our attention on researching the content and possible graphic design of packaging boxes.

The search for content

The search for content in line with the preliminary strategy was essential for the creative packaging. In fact, to comply with the theme of eco-sustainability of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna 2019, we chose to use content closely related to nature.

The image of a green meadow, a tree in the distance, and a blue sky clear of clouds. In the end, all it took was a little imagination to feel immersed in nature. Theenvironment is the real star of the packaging.

In addition to this, to further emphasize the focus of sustainability, environmental friendliness and circular economy, we decided to take inspiration from two great figures. One is Andy Warhol, the other Kofi Annan.

the second a Ghanaian politician and diplomat of international stature:

“Our biggest challenge in this new century is to adopt an idea that seems abstract-sustainable development.”

At Isola, through these two quotes, we wanted to give more resonance to what seem to us to be two great challenges for all of us. But why not try to overcome them? Andy Warhol and Kofi Annan is like giving us one more reason to do so.

Graphics

One element that cannot be missing for successful creative packaging isattention to graphics. That is, the study of color and placement of different elements in the design.

For this reason, the graphic experts at Isola began to unleash their creativity and skills on the packaging structure given by Steba. In fact, whatever the product, we know how important originality is and we strive to arrive at the best result.

With this in mind at Isola we began to study packaging design and place all the content collected through our previous research. And… finally, here is the creative packaging!
